My husband had the idea to visit a September 11th memorial this morning with our young children. As we walked up to the numerous flags, each tagged with a name, I couldn't help but feel the emotions well up inside me. I'm so grateful for this country we live in, and I want to wish all of you a happy and safe September 11th in the hopes that you'll have a chance to reflect on the events of this day as I have. :)
I think that's wonderful - that you took your kids to a memorial! Unless we take the time to teach our children about what happened on that day, the memories will eventually fade. We need to make sure that those memories are kept alive. We also need to make sure that our children and grandchildren understand the sacrifices that were made on that day and continue to be made.

ReplyDeleteI remember too! Even though I live in Denmark I remember that day and the days right after crystal clear!
