A Good Deed

The majestic desert of sunny Arizona was the backdrop for a recent unfortunate event that left a family without their home, and their possessions.

Bekki and her family were out of town and returned home to find their home in flames.

Many of their possessions were lost in the fire including photos and other precious keepsakes.

The silver lining in the whole misfortune was that despite all of the damage that had been inflicted by the flames, the family was safe, they had each other.

Family and friends from all over donated clothes, toiletries, and other items to the family so that they could get by while they tried to rebuild their lives.

As they assessed the damage, the only real regret was that they couldn't get back those photos/journals that were lost. As fate would have it, Bekki had been updating her blog with the important photos and events that had been happening for the last few years. A good friend of Bekki's contacted us and asked if it was possible to have Bekki's blog made into a book so that the family could have a tangible gift to look at and remember those good times!

We were delighted at the request!

We contacted Shared Book, our blog books providers and gave them the details of the situation and they felt so apologetic for Bekki and her family. They offered to let her create a FREE blog book and ship it to her! Now she has something material that contains photos and thoughts that she and her family can treasure.

Whenever I think about this incident, I am inspired by those people who thought of others before themselves.

Shakespeare said, "So shines a good deed in a weary world."

We want to thank Shared Book for opening their hearts and resources to this family. We also want to thank Bekki's friend Aimee, for reaching out to us for her friend in a time of need. We wish the best for Bekki and  her family and hope that she can make lots more great memories!

  3. So sorry to hear about Bekki & her family's house fire but also glad for the "silver lining" as well as the help that was available.
Having problems with downloading my personalized blog background. I am having difficulty because the exact words indicated to replace are not found in the code I am getting.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  5. What a lovely way to make such a nightmare not so horrible.

Say, dunno where else to put this-I am using your Denim Days (3 column) on my blogger blog and I use your backgrounds all the time-except for some reason this one is taking forever to load (it does eventually) so I wonder-is there a coding error or something-I double checked to be sure I wasn't loading two up at the same time and I am not-I also tried the reg. one-no go on that one too. Any ideas? I LOVE that design and really want to keep it. Thanks
